The NMBA encourages all eligible businesses to participate in the new initiative, HER Helmet Thursdays! It's a great way to publicize your business, encourage green living practices, and bring foot traffic to the Lighthouse District. All the details are in the announcement below and at http://lighthousedistrict.net. Bike to the Lighthouse District on Thursdays and receive discounts from local businesses participating in HER Helmet Thursdays! Four Lighthouse District businesses - Amir's Kabob House, Hula's Island Grill & Tiki Room, Monterey Hostel, and Persian Grill - are among the first 71 charter participants in HER Helmet Thursdays, a countywide sustainability project. The project is an ecology-economy partnership. H-E-R businesses and organizations help sustain the environment by offering customers a 10 to 50 percent discount for biking there on Thursdays. Westbound traffic on Lighthouse Avenue between Reeside and Drake Avenues will be reduced to one lane Tuesday through Thursday (January 5-7) while work crews remove three black acacia trees above the lawn area at Scholze Park. No-parking signs will be posted.

Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Rabobank Community Conference Room at 599 Lighthouse in New Monterey. These meetings are open to all members. Member input is encouraged and relevent items will be agendized for future board action or referred to the appropriate committee. Below is the meeting schedule for 2010: |
