Escape Room 831 Producing Face Shields for Local Health Care Workers

The Lighthouse District's Escape Room 831, like other businesses nationwide, has been impacted by the coronavirus emergency, but they’re making the most of their downtime by producing much-needed face shields for local health care workers and the police.

Escape Room 831’s fabricator Scott Rush, using a 3D printer, has been making eight to ten face shields per day and hopes to have 100 available by the time they are finished. The supplies are limited and sourcing has been difficult. Using all those supplies to fabricate is the primary concern.

“It isn’t the one million protective face shields Apple has committed to making weekly, but it is available to the local health care community for their use,” said owner Barrie Riddoch. “We are part of the community and we just wanted to do our share to help in any way we can.”

Escape Room 831 was founded in 2018 by entrepreneurs Christina and Barrie Riddoch of Monterey. Escape Room 831 is currently closed due to the coronavirus emergency.
