Top Nails Opens in the Lighthouse District!

Bright Coffee Now Offering Maya Teas

Bright Coffee, located inside Lilify at 281 Lighthouse Avenue, has recently introduced a range of Maya teas for you to enjoy in the cold weather. We now offer chai lattes, featuring Maya Chai Devi and Maya Chai Original flavors, as well as Large Leaf Masala Chai Tea which, with its Assam leaves blended with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and a hint of anise and vanilla, tastes remarkably close to authentic chai.

Looking for something without caffeine? We also sell cups of Maya's Vanilla Spice Herbal Tea, with warming cinnamon, ginger, and fennel blended with a touch of vanilla. It's just right for the winter holidays.

Bright Coffee is open Monday-Saturday, 6am-2pm, and Sunday, 8am-1pm. Stop by for a warming cup of tea or a coffee made from beans we roasted ourselves!

Primefit Classes with Jen & Jolie

Prime - The Studio presents Primefit Classes with Jen DeVilliers and Jolie Kobrinsky in New Monterey's Lighthouse District. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11am; Tuesday and Thursday at 6am; and Saturday at 9am.

Body school is in session! Study cutting edge fitness modalities with Primefit. Develop endurance, flexibility, and lean muscle. Master kettlebells, bodyweight, clubs, and rings.

Radiant health is possible at any stage in our lives, but it's not a quick fix. The only way to improve is to study, practice, fail, and try again. Become a student of your body and health. Once you get started, your self-awareness and self-discipline will get firm along with everything else.

West Coat Tea Now Open in Lighthouse District

The New Monterey Business Association is pleased to welcome West Coast Tea to the Lighthouse District! Located inside Cat's Meow at 601 Lighthouse Avenue, it offers premium, special, and rare loose leaf teas from around the world as well as many helpful items to prepare and enjoy tea such as cups, tea pots, strainers, and exclusive electric samovars.

Contrary to many teas offered by other suppliers in the US, West Coast Tea's certified lab technicians in Germany are limited by German law to release teas with only minimum amounts of pesticides and chemicals, so you can be assured they only carry teas which are truly good for your body and soul.

West Coast Tea is open for retail trade seven days a week, 11am-6pm, and serves tea Friday - Sunday, 11am-6pm.

Monterey Copy Center Renamed "Pixels"!

Cat's Meow at MoCo Resurrection

The Lighthouse District's own Cat's Meow is pleased to be dressing many of the guests and workers at the Monterey Contemporaries' Mo+Co Resurrection - Dance of the Dead on Friday, November 1, 6pm-9pm at Monterey Museum of Art - La Mirada. Don't miss the chance to see some truly amazing costumes designed by the wildly creative Melinda Collis of Cat's Meow!

Velocity Performance Training Metabolic Group Classes

At the Lighthouse District's newest fitness center, Velocity Performance Training, located at 828 Lighthouse Avenue, you don't see rows of cardio equipment like you do at most gyms. We use a much more effective (and a lot more fun) way to do "cardio". Our VPT Metabolic group sessions are our version of a cardio workout. They burn calories, get your metabolism revving and give you the cardiovascular benefits you're looking for.

In the research, interval cardio training has been shown to be the most effective for fat loss. We've taken it up a notch and incorporated exercises in multiple planes of motion, using all kinds of equipment such as TRX, kettle bells, ropes, sand bags, medicine balls, and more into an interval-style workout. You'll have a blast and you'll torch fat.

Halloween on Lighthouse 2013

New Monterey's Lighthouse District invites you to join us for our Annual Halloween Celebrations! With children's trick-or-treating at the shops on Lighthouse Avenue, parties for adults and kids, an outdoor screening of Spielberg's E.T, a great selection of costumes, and a special costume fashion show, Halloween in the Lighthouse District promises to be fun for all ages!

Be sure to view the full list of events and specials here and to check back regularly because this list will grow like the number of giant monsters emerging from a wormhole in the ocean floor in a Guillermo del Toro film.

Prana Yoga & Mat Pilates Classes at Prime

Prime Monterey is pleased to announce two new classes led by instructor Mia Hurst, a gifted yoga teacher whose attitude is uplifting and whose cues are easy to apply. Bring a water bottle - shoes and mat are optional.

PRANA YOGA
Tuesdays, 12pm
Regular Prana Yoga practice is a powerful therapeutic tool for healing the physical and mental body. It slows the aging process and keeps you open sexually; it creates strength, flexibility and muscle tone; it improves posture, and it will increase your sense of grace and overall well being.

MAT PILATES
Thursdays, 12pm
Pilates develops alignment, breathing, and a strong core and improves coordination and balance. The mat exercises are the foundation for the entire system. Mia allows for all exercises to be modified according to your level.

Boxing Classes at Velocity Performance Training

The Lighthouse District's newest fitness center, Velocity Performance Training, located at 828 Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey, will be offering boxing classes beginning October 14, 2013. We welcome men, women, responsible teenagers, and youths!

Boxing classes will be offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 5am-6:30am and 6:30pm-8pm. Each block of instruction will last 3 weeks, followed by 1 week of recovery. The regular fee is $139 per month, but if you sign up by October 11th it's only $109 per month!

The class will cover the basics of boxing with the goals of either personal self-defense or training for amateur or professional competition. This class can also be used to assist in weight reduction. Our morning classes are open for those wanting additional cardio and strength training and are extended to all current Velocty Performance Training members at no additional charge.

Snap Fitness: New Personal Trainer

Snap Fitness in New Monterey's Lighthouse District is pleased to announce that we have a new Personal Trainer on our team! Not only does David Alessandro have over 20 years of experience in training students in resistance training and martial arts, but he is also TRX certified and graduated from The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. David will be training at our Monterey facility on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings.

We are also excited that starting September 24, 2013, David will be teaching a Bootcamp Class every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6am which is free to all members! Are you ready to burn calories and get to a stronger and leaner you? Join us in a total body strength and heart-thumping cardio training that will fire up your metabolism. This 50 minute workout will incorporate use of weights, body weight, TRX, and plyometric exercises that are sure to produce results. All levels welcomed and encouraged!
