Paper Wing Theatre in the Lighthouse District needs a fresh coat of paint, some new floors, refurbishment of the petite Gallerie Stage, and a general makeover! As you can imagine, this will require some good old-fashioned blood, sweat, and tears which we can supply, and a limited amount of capital, which is where YOU come in.

It's time for the Turkey Drive at Paper Wing Theatre!! Once again, Paper Wing will be collecting frozen turkeys at the theatre at 320 Hoffman in New Monterey beginning Tuesday, November 15, 4pm-8pm and continuing every weeknight until Tuesday, November 22.
The last few years we've done this we've collected hundreds of pounds of turkeys and given them to the Food Bank for Monterey County. This year, we would like to give to the Veterans Transition Center of Monterey County as well, so we need twice as many turkeys. We're aiming to collect 50 this year!
Everybody deserves a delicious plate of food or the fixings to make a meal for their family on Thanksgiving. All you have to do is pick up an extra turkey when you go grocery shopping, then bring it to the theater during the allocated times and we'll do the rest. We'll also take cash donations or donations of grocery store cards if you don't have time to shop.

The Presidio of Monterey and the Defense Language Institute has announced that the Taylor Street Gate will be closed to vehicle traffic effective at midnight on Sunday, November 6, 2016 until further notice. The pedestrian turnstile at Taylor Gate will remain operational for DoD ID card holders 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
To offset the impact of inbound commuter traffic, improve traffic flow, and enhance safety on Lighthouse Avenue during peak hours, the Bolio Street entrance from Lighthouse Avenue will be blocked from 6:30am-8:30am on weekdays. Traffic will be directed to enter the lower Presidio from Pacific Street to Corporal Ewing Road and Bolio Street Gate for access.
Presidio officials remind community members to allow more time when accessing the Presidio of Monterey, either as an employee or visitor. For more information, please contact 831-242-5555.
