Cat's Meow Moving Sale Continues!

Posted on November 12th, 2020 by Cat's Meow

The Cat's Meow moving sale continues at 601 Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey. As the days have shortened and we officially start our move to our new home, we have modified our hours for the rest of our stay here in Monterey.

New hours: Tue-Fri, 12pm-5pm; Sat, 11am-6pm; Sun, 1pm-6pm. Closed on Mondays.

We won't be on Lighthouse Avenue for much longer, so be sure to come by and catch a great deal on vintage clothing, accessories, home decor, and more before we make our way across the Bay. That's right, cats and kittens, we've found a new location at 104 Lincoln Street in Santa Cruz!

For now, we still have a full store here in Monterey and will continue to be open six days a week until the move is complete.

Nacho Bizness Reopens in Downtown Old Monterey

Posted on October 28th, 2020 by lighthouseave

Folks, we have good news and bad news. Bad news first: everybody's favorite late-night nacho spot, Nacho Bizness, has left Lighthouse Avenue in New Monterey. The good news is that it's moved nearby, to 470 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey!

Your pals at Nacho Bizness, the little hole-in-the-wall-that-could, now have a big, fun, newly redecorated restaurant where they're slinging piping hot 'chos and burritos for take-out. They've still got great vegan and gluten-free options for everyone and all their take-out packaging is green certified.

To those of you who have been craving nacho awesomeness ever since Nacho Bizness closed for remodeling in December 2019, we encourage you to pay them a visit on Alvarado Street, say hello, and support a locally-owned small business that's opening a new chapter in their story.

We are sad to report that Steve Smith, a much-beloved long-time employee of Carpets & Floors on Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey, has sustained a serious brain injury and is in serious condition in the hospital. He is the sole provider for his four young children and wife, and may not be able to work for quite some time.

His friends attest to the fact that Steve has always been a person who tries to help other people in need. You may have met him outside Carpets & Floors during the Lighthouse District Children's Trick-or-Treat - he always has kindness and a smile for all the kids who stop by. His friends have set up a GoFundMe campaign to try and help him and his family financially. If you are able at this time, please consider making a donation.
